Dr Chanka Nanayakkara Paediatrician

Dr Nanayakkara completed her primary medical degree in Sri Lanka in 2000. She completed part of her General Paediatric training in UK before moving to Australia in 2006. She completed General Paediatric training with Northern Children’s Health Network in 2010. She undertook further post-graduate training in Paediatric Rehabilitation and completed in 2016. Hence, she is dual trained in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Rehabilitation. She worked as a Staff Specialist in Paediatric Rehabilitation from 2013-2017 at John Hunter Hospital and with the multi-disciplinary team at Educare since 2015-2021, with special interest in behaviour, learning and development. She provides multi-disciplinary rehabilitation input for children with Cerebral palsy, Spinal cord injury, Brain injury and Joint hypermobility at Beyond Boundaries Rehab and administer Botulinum toxin at Warners Bay Private Hospital. She works closely with NDIA, DCJ and schools.

Kim Cardile has more than 20 years of experience as a Clinical and Performance Psychologist, Educator. As a Secondary Education Teacher, she easily connects with young people, their families and tailors her approach to their strengths, interests and learning preferences, whilst considering their mental health and developmental needs. 


She is able to motivate young people to achieve their mental health and performance goals and has extensive experience at working with primary, secondary and tertiary students as well as developmental, Olympic and professional athletes.


Kim delivers high quality clinical assessment and treatment for mild to complex mental health and wellbeing issues. She offers a range of therapeutic modalities inclusive of 

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness in Motion and Yoga Therapy, Play Based Therapy, Walk and Talk Therapy. 


She is an accredited Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Clinical and Sport Psychologist and Psychology, A board Approved Supervisor and Member of the Australian Psychological Society Sport and Performance Psychology College.


She is a certified Children’s and Teens Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist and has a strong background in Trauma.

David has a 12-year career in high school teaching prior to 10 years working in psychology, which fostered a deep understanding of the interpersonal, behavioural and assessment skills which underpin his practice. These skills were further developed through 10 years of School Counselling, as well as through roles in acute child, adolescent and adult mental health with NSW Health and in Private Practice.

David specializes in neuro-psychometric assessment, with expertise in the diagnosis of Intellectual and related disabilities, Language and Learning Disorders, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

David also has extensive expertise providing intervention and support for children and adolescents with neuro-diverse diagnoses, especially in the areas of mental health and behaviour difficulties. 

David works with a range of mental health intervention models including cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), brief solution focused therapy (BSFT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). He also utilises a range of intervention models to support parent management training including functional behaviour analysis (FBA), positive approaches to behaviour and the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) model. David uses an attachment-based approach to behaviour and family therapy.

Hayley is deeply committed to using her extensive education in Exercise and Sport Science, Pilates, and Clinical Exercise Physiology to assist children and adults to achieve their unique goals and improve their health and wellbeing. Her approach focuses on the healing power of movement, especially through Pilates.

Hayley uses Pilates as a tool to support children with movement challenges, helping them develop strength, coordination, and postural control. Through individualised exercise programs, they focus on improving body awareness, motor skills, and confidence in movement, enabling children to engage more fully in daily activities and play.

Pilates can be particularly beneficial for children who experience difficulties with motor coordination, low muscle tone, joint instability, or challenges with focus and self-regulation.
